Impulse: Savings bank

core "Impuls: Sparkasse"

Ways into the future

“Wave of bank deaths on the horizon” was the title of a gloomy Handelsblatt article about savings banks and cooperative banks that was recently published. Minimal interest rates and increasing regulation were almost impossible for small financial institutions to cope with, it argued. Some consultants also like to add their voices to such songs of doom. Perhaps because using fear to further your own business goals promises quick money? We at zeb prefer to shape the future long-term: together with our clients, we analyze the challenges savings banks are facing in what is admittedly a difficult market environment. And then we develop and implement solutions. The effects on performance are the benchmark.

This issue’s topics:

Sparkasse Hannover is convinced that branches will continue to be an important sales channel in the future. It has tested the concept “Erfolgsteam Filiale” (The branch as a success team) in the private and corporate customer sector.

Kreissparkasse Esslingen-Nürtingen wants to gain more young customers. Digitalization is the buzzword. But how can traditional savings bank values such as quality, regionality and personality be transformed into the digital future?

Sparkasse Herford has also understood that life situations and needs are changing radically.
“Thinking from the customer's point of view—today, tomorrow and the day after tomorrow”—under this motto, the course is set for the future.

Corporate customer business also needs a “sales strategy of the future”—the Business Center can be its new heart.
